Jeddah Yacht Club is the Kingdom's established gateway. It holds 93 to 95 berths for yachts from 10m up to 120m and more, sits on the north Jeddah Corniche, and is recognized by Saudi authorities as a Port of Entry with its own onsite customs and immigration. That status matters: a boat can clear into the country at the marina itself.

Sindalah, NEOM's Red Sea island, added a second option in October 2024. Its IGY-managed marina has 86 berths for yachts up to 75m, plus serviced offshore buoys for superyachts up to 180m. AMAALA Yacht Club Marina followed in 2026 with 119 berths and room for superyachts over 100m up to 140m, and is set to host the Ocean Race 2027 Grand Finale.

Flags, registration and what you actually pay

MAWANI, the Saudi Ports Authority, handles vessel and flag registration. There is no aviation-style nationality prefix system: a Saudi-flagged boat gets a Certificate of Registration from MAWANI, and the Saudi Red Sea Authority (SRSA) layers its own yacht-specific licenses on top for boats operating in the Red Sea tourism zone.

In practice, many higher-value Gulf-owned yachts stay flagged offshore, in the Cayman Islands, Marshall Islands or Malta, mainly for charter flexibility, resale liquidity and established crew-licensing frameworks. On cost: Saudi Arabia applies the GCC Common External Tariff of 5% to most imports, though pleasure yachts are not confirmed on the exemption list, so confirm the exact HS code with a customs broker. VAT is the bigger number, a standard 15% under ZATCA on the CIF value plus duty, with no yacht-specific exemption in public guidance. Confirm both figures with MAWANI before you sign anything.
